LEFT MANY HOPLESS

*SO* *LONG* *A* *LETTER*.

Dear Mr.George Magoha,

RE:TOKEN FOR THE B.O.M TEACHERS IN KENYA.

I hereby humbly write for the above mentioned subject following the closure of all public and private learning institutions in the country due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 since March this year.

I am a kenyan citizen by birth and a Tsc compliant teacher who was employed by a Board Of Management in a certain public school in Kenya before things went haywire.

When this mysterious virus was reported in oyr country, the president of this Republic ordered all learning schools to be closed as one way of preventing the spread of this pandemic.Congratulations to our caring and able president!

We have been very patient and optimistic that soon we shall defeat this virus and return back to our daily hustles (jobs) but the current ain't promising at all.And to make the matter worse,Mr Magoha, your recent public address on the re-opening of schools left many of us shocked and hopeless. It indeed robbed us the little patience and hope that we had.It is irrefutable that the B.O.M teachers have been definitely rendered jobless since there is no single school that can manage to continue cushioning their B.O.M teachers for a period of almost 9 months without the hand of the ministry of education(government).

It was just the other day when we sadly heard your fate on us.Being that prolific,we never expected you to judge that inconsiderate and inhumane. Please remember that it is the same B.O.M teachers who solve that problem teachers inadequacy in our public schools thus enhancing that 100% transition programme. It is through these teachers that great and desirable performance is achieved in our learning institutions. These teachers too play very paramount roles in instilling discipline to the learners and to some extent foster moral values in the same learners that we are proud of in the society. In democratic responsibilities,B.O.M teachers perform overwhelmingly. They participate in paying tax as one way of replenishing the country's treasury. These teachers too participate in both general and by-elections of this country.

You advised us to venture in other hustles.Well, remember with this situation it is too difficult for one to secure any job in any sector, even in Jua Kali sector since many people in one place will form a crowd which is forbidden by the ministry of health and sanitation.Again, remember that due to public mistrust professionals (teachers) can't get a kibarua in other fields easily because the management is always suspicious that these professionals might quit anytime and embark on their specific fields not unless it is a family enterprise/project.Starting a small business is a nightmare since these teachers lack starting capital.

Bwana CS,why all this? Please I humbly request ho to revisit your verdict because a victim,I deeply feel so sidelined/dumped by my own government.

The other day the president promised the public how his government is ready to cushion the most vulnerable citizens in the society including those in private sector(business people) and it the same government which is not ready to avail its shoulders to the B.O.M teachers to lean on during this hard period. Why are B.O.M teachers left out in this important programme? Are thes B.O.M teachers the one to drain the government's treasury when cushioned?Who will really care for the status of B.O.M teachers?Perhaps, I presume H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta will!

We are not requesting for something equal to our normal pay but just a petite to save our lives plus our young families which are on the verge of breaking up.We too have many debts which have been accruing since March this year.It is so painful and shameful for a B.O.M teacher who democratically pays tax to succumb to hunger and other social malpractices due to bankruptcy.

We appeal to the government to consider our plea and wipe  out our everyday tears.

Its our hope that our sincere cry shall be listened and smiles shall be seen on our faces soon.
